Nevada Air Guard’s Reid, Week attain rank of colonel

Recognized for their dedication, experience, competence and contributions to the Nevada Air Guard, Kyle Reid and John Week were promoted to the rank of colonel here Saturday in a ceremony at the 152nd Airlift Wing attended by Brig. Gen. Robert Fitch, the commander of the Nevada Air National Guard.

     Reid, 45, is the commander of the 152nd Operations Group of the 152nd Airlift Wing in Reno. Reid's recent assignments include stints as the director of operations for the Nevada Air Guard, director of operations for the 192nd Airlift Squadron, and flight commander of the 192nd Airlift Squadron.

     As operations group commander, Reid is responsible for the safe and effective use of the Nevada Air Guard's eight C-130H aircraft, their crews, and associated operations support personnel. Reid received his bachelor's degree from the Air Force Academy in 1988. Reid is also a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and completed the Air War College in 2008.

     Week, 48, is the Nevada Air Guard's director of staff. Week's recent assignments include time as the deputy maintenance group commander, the maintenance squadron commander, and the supply management officer.

     As director of the air staff, Week is the principle advisor to the adjutant general on a wide range of personnel matters concerning the 1,100 Airmen in the Nevada Guard.
Week received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1993. Week is also a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and completed the Air War College in 2007.
