Reno Aces set to host military appreciation night Aug. 5 Published July 21, 2011 By 010711 RENO -- By Command Sgt. Maj. Darryl Keithley State Sergeant Major RENO - The Reno Aces, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, are set to host the team's military appreciation night on Aug. 5. The Aces will be playing the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Nevada National Guard will be prominently featured during the night. Nevada Guard exhibits and equipment will be displayed outside of the ballpark prior to the game. Pre-game military ceremonies will include: the enlistment of several Nevada Guard Airmen, the presentation of colors, the singing of the national anthem by Capt. Melissa Beauchamp and the throwing out of the first pitch by Master Sgt. Brandan Trehalalong and Sgt. Jacob Costello. The Nevada Guard Soldier and Airman of the year will also be recognized. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. The Reno Aces will wear camouflage hats during the game. Autographed hats will be raffled off during the game. Proceeds will go to the Enlisted Airmen and the Sergeants' Major Funds. Tickets are $11 and must be purchased before Aug. 2. Aces Ballpark is located at 250 Evans Avenue in Reno.
