The largest-ever contingent of deployed Airmen and C-130 aircraft from the Nevada Air Guard's 152nd Airlift Wing returned home earlier this year. Five flights containing more than 125 Airmen returned to the Nevada Air National Guard base here between March 26 and April 7.

The Airmen, mostly air crew and maintenance personnel, were in Afghanistan during the deployment where they performed hundreds of airlift and air drop missions across the country and in southwest Asia.

The deployment was not the longest deployment for the airlift wing, but it was the largest single deployment in terms of total Airmen in Nevada Air Guard history.

Hundreds of friends and family members were on hand to welcome home each of the five flights.

"I'm so excited, it's been a long trip home," said Capt. Justin Galli during a television interview. "I don't even have words for it. I'm just super excited to be around my family."

According to the Nevada Guard's mobilization office, about 100 Nevada Guard Airmen remain deployed in southwest Asia including the countries of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
