Nevada Air Guard assists with Hurricane Sandy relief Published Oct. 29, 2012 By NV JFHQ Public Affairs 152AW/PA RENO -- A 152nd Airlift Wing C-130 Hercules and crew departed this morning for Moffett Field, Calif. to pick up a rescue boat, truck, and several Guardian Angel Pararescue Airmen from the 129th Rescue Wing of the California Air National Guard. The aircraft and load will depart the airfield near Sunnyvale, Calif. later today for Charlotte, N.C. to assist with Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The 152nd, called to duty by the Air National Guard Readiness Center Crisis Action Team, is expected to arrive in North Carolina late tonight. Crews are unsure how long the relief mission will last. The Hurricane Sandy mission comes amidst the High Rollers' deployment to Southwest Asia this week. That deployment takes three aircraft and more than 100 Airmen to Kuwait by week's end. -30-
