The state of Nevada's 78th Legislative Session convened with the presentation of the colors by the Nevada Guard's Joint Color Guard in the Senate chambers at the state legislature building in Carson City today.

The all-volunteer team was composed of two Soldiers and two Airmen, including Sgt. Robert Green and Staff Sgt. Rose Kemp from Joint Force Headquarters, Airman 1st Class David Almada from the 152nd Communications Flight and Master Sgt. Suzanne Connell of the 152nd Airlift Wing.

A former civilian employee of the Nevada Guard was also in attendance for the presentation of colors. Claire Clift, the current Secretary of the Senate, recently left her position as the real property manager for the Guard to return to the Senate.

The Nevada National Guard Color Guard is an all-volunteer task force that represents the Nevada Guard in a plethora of public events and is always looking for Soldiers and Airmen to become a member of the team.
