Wing Assumption of Command
Col. Catherine Grush and Brig. Gen. Troy Havener pose during the 152nd Airlift Wing Assumption of Command ceremony at the Nevada Air National Guard Base, Reno, Nevada, Sept. 9, 2023. Col. Grush assumed command and became the first female wing commander of the 152nd Airlift Wing. Women have historically made up less than 20 percent of the Nevada Air National Guard, but that is changing. According to statistics provided by the Nevada Air National Guard's Recruiting and Retention Office, 33 percent of incoming recruits this year were women. That marks the fourth consecutive year of more than 30 percent incoming recruits being women.
