  • Nevada Guard ‘High Rollers’ launch AFWERX spark cell

    RENO, Nev. – About 70 innovation spark cells launched around the world since the U.S. Air Force debuted AFWERX in 2017, with a majority in the active-duty realm. Earlier this month, the 152nd Airlift Wing, Nevada Air National Guard, also known as the “High Rollers,” became the newest Guard unit to participate with the creation of “Silver State Spark.”

At a recent strategic planning meeting, we discussed “culture versus strategy” at length while trying to capture a new strategic end state for the NVANG in 2030. The question remains, what is the relative importance that culture has on an organization as it relates to the execution of strategic, operational or tactical objectives?

    The 152nd Airlift wing welcomed Col. Jacob Hammons as new Commander at a change of command ceremony at the Nevada Air National Guard base in Reno, Nev.

    The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino held its annual Beer and Chili festival on October 19th and 20th and the Nevada Air National Guard firefighters walked away winners.
  • High Rollers fly with Navy, other services during Resolute Hunter Exercise

    The 192nd Airlift Squadron participated in Exercise Resolute Hunter at the Naval Air Station Fallon Range Training Complex (FRTC) from Oct. 21 to 25. The Fallon Naval Air Station (NAS Fallon) and Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) are the Navy’s premier Weapon Tactics Instructor (WTI) schools and they’re located well within flying distance for the High Rollers out of Reno.
  • 2019 Haunted Hangars

    The Airman and Family Readiness Program Manager, and the Nevada Army National Guard Child & Youth Coordinator hosted a Kids Halloween event on October 25, 2019 at the Nevada Air National Guard Base. Adults and Kids dressed up like ghosts, goblins, action heroes and various other very creative Halloween Costumes, taking part in activities and games at the “Haunted Hangars” that included bean-bag toss, pumpkin decorating and hay rides.

  • POW MIA Recognition Day with Diana Brown

    Diana Brown, the daughter of Nevada Air National Guard’s only combat fatality, 1st Lt. Frank Salazar, spoke to Airmen on the 40th anniversary of the first POW/MIA Recognition Day.
